Inspiring Young Poets Take Center Stage

From identity and ancestry to faith, love, and growing up, poetry offers a beautiful window into our eighth graders’ inner lives. Their poetry is often in conversation with Langston Hughes’ “Theme for English B” and its invitation to seek truth:

Go home and write
a page tonight.
And let that page come out of you—
Then, it will be true.
