Celebrating our Growth & Traditions that Shape Us

Dear Friends,

What a month!

Yesterday, we celebrated our 15th Commencement and graduated the largest eighth grade class in HA's history, a milestone moment. The ceremony was made even more meaningful by one of our most cherished practices: classmates introducing one another through stories that reveal how each graduate embodies our School Creed.

Yet Commencement was only the capstone of a series of end-of-year traditions that bring our mission to life and our community together in gratitude, reflection, and joy.

TRADITIONS THAT SHAPE US

Sharing a love of reading. Our eighth graders donated books to the school library, visiting primary and elementary school community meetings to share their selections. So cool to watch our youngest students light up when they recognized classics like “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” and their excitement to discover unfamiliar titles – and to see our oldest students pass along the gift of reading to the next generation.

Parent reflections & feedback. Eighth grade parents joined the Board of Trustees’ final meeting, offering reflections on their families’ experiences and how we can continue to grow, then finishing with a toast to the journey we’ve shared.

Spirit & community. Field Day was a wonderful invasion of our local parks and brought out the very best in our students, a perfect mix of spirited competition, friendship, and contagious joy.

Celebrating growth. Every student is honored with a final commendation, highlighting a connection to the School Creed that we hope they will carry forward through the summer and into their work next year.

Alumni Homecoming.
More than 150 alumni and their parents returned to campus for our annual Homecoming Dinner. Together, we welcomed the Class of 2026 into our alumni community and reflected on the lifelong bonds that make HA so special.

These traditions remind us that education is not only about academic achievement. It is about belonging, character, and community, values that connect our students across grades and that will persist across generations.

We are grateful to everyone who helps position us to bring this intentional culture to life and hope you share our pride in all we accomplished together during this remarkable year.

With best wishes for the summer and always,

Vinny
