We are excited to welcome Carol B. Kenney to Harlem Academy’s board of trustees. Carol began her career at the New York Federal Reserve, followed by more than a decade working for Wall Street firms, first at Loeb Rhoades and ultimately with Shearson/American Express, as well as Wertheim and Company. Carol retired in 1986 to focus on her family and nonprofit work. Dear Friends,  One year ago, we broke ground on our new 29,000-square-foot school building at 655 St. Nicholas Avenue, and we’re excited to share the great progress we’re making. Fourth grader Rabi was eager for the virtual check-in with his teacher, Jasmine Ahmed, to begin. Today, we were filled with pride as our eighth graders took the stage to receive their diplomas – a joyous achievement not only for our graduating students but also for our entire community. When Tanéyah Jolly ’16 came to Harlem Academy in the fifth grade, she embraced our rigorous curriculum and pushed herself to excel. Harlem Academy is deeply saddened by the loss of former trustee Bruno Bich, a longtime Harlem Academy supporter, advisor, and friend who passed away on May 30, 2021. Earlier this month, our eighth graders presented their experiments at Harlem Academy’s fourth annual science fair.
