Evaluation Framework

We measure and analyze performance throughout the year to track progress toward our mission and inform improvements to our program. Beyond traditional metrics, we regularly solicit formal feedback from key constituents to ensure the school remains responsive to the community’s needs.  

Academic Excellence

Outcome: Students are prepared academically for success at top secondary schools.

 Metrics  Evaluation Method
  • Two-thirds of students perform in top quartile nationwide; one-third of students perform in the top decile nationwide.
  • 85% of retained students remain in or rise into the top quartile, or gain at least 5 percentile points from the prior year.
  • 50% of retained students remain in or rise into the top decile, or gain at least 5 percentile points from the prior year.
  • Families rate the school’s work providing a program that realizes the mission a 4+ (strong) on a scale of 1-5.
  • Graduates maintain their GPA from eighth grade through their secondary school years.
  • Graduates rate their preparation for core academic subjects, as well as reading and writing assignments a 4+ (prepared) on a scale of 1-5.

Character Growth

Outcome: Students have developed successful habits of thought, speech, and action.

 Metrics  Evaluation Method
  • 85% of middle school students maintain their gold/silver status or move up into that category.
  • Using 10 measures of contribution to the community, graduates’ average rating is 4+ (strong) on a scale of 1-5.
  • In rating the school’s work helping students build habits for strong contribution to community, parents’ average rating is 4+ (strong) on a scale of 1-5.
  • Merit system, which records performance on a set of behaviors every member of the community is expected to exhibit consistently

Secondary School Placement

Outcome: Every student is well placed at a school where they will continue to grow.

 Metrics  Evaluation Method
  • 100% of students at appropriate secondary schools.
  • 60% of new graduates earn full-need scholarships to independent schools.
  • 20% of new graduates placed at top-20 day, boarding, or public school.
  • Internal tracking via close collaboration with students and families

Family Partnership

Outcome: Families partner with the school to support their child’s success.

 Metrics  Evaluation Method
  • 100% of families attend parent conferences held 2x per year.
  • Families achieve a 96% attendance rate.
  • Parents/guardians rate family partnership a 4+ (strong) on a scale of 1-5.
