Harlem Academy is an independent school (grades 1-8 + kindergarten in fall 2022) that drives equity of opportunity for promising students, guiding them to thrive at the highest academic levels and one day make a mark on the world.

Full-need scholarships: Tuition is set on a sliding scale based on family income, and no family is ever turned away for an inability to pay.
Rigorous, engaging academics: Our advanced curriculum engages students and cultivates intellectual curiosity toward the development of core academic skills.
Character growth: Our advisory program develops habits for academic success and community contribution.
Extended day: The school is open 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., providing time for enrichment and electives directly tied to program goals.
Secondary school placement: Beginning in sixth grade, we work closely with students and families to support placement, including extensive advising, boarding school trips, and interview and test preparation.
Graduate support. We stay connected through college and beyond, providing individual support, volunteer opportunities, SAT/ACT preparation, events, and more.
WHOM WE SERVE
Harlem Academy uses a selective admissions process to identify students with the potential to succeed in our rigorous academic program.
Our students gain an average of 16 points during their time with us, graduating at the 90th percentile.
SECONDARY SCHOOL MATRICULATION
100% of the students in our last four graduating classes matriculated at selective secondary schools, including Horace Mann, Peddie, Trinity, Riverdale, and Spence.
Our graduates receive independent day and boarding school scholarships that average more than $50,000 per year.
94% of our graduates are enrolled in four-year colleges, including Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Cornell, Dartmouth, Howard, NYU, Princeton, Wesleyan, and Yale.
