Dear HA Families,
First off, thanks to all of you, as well as to all of our students and teachers, for ongoing partnership as we work through the challenges and uncertainties related to the novel coronavirus.
Everyone is doing a great job of staying vigilant in our prevention habits, responding to facts instead of fears, and attending to the children's academic and holistic needs.
We have no plans to close the school at this time but want to be prepared for our students’ learning to continue in the event that we must temporarily close the school and implement a distance learning plan.
If we actually have to implement such a plan, your child's teacher or teachers would follow up with more details about school work and communication. However, for now, we want to make sure that all students have the resources (Chromebook/iPad and library books) they would need to successfully continue their learning outside of school. For now, we are taking two preparation steps:
1) For all students, we are sending home additional library books. Some students may have gotten an expanded collection to borrow today; everyone else will get them tomorrow.
2) MOST IMPORTANT FOR RIGHT NOW, if your child does NOT have access to a computer (Grades 3-8), or tablet (Grades 1-2) at home, we are setting up a program that will allow students to sign-out their classroom device for use at home. If you wish your child to participate in technology borrowing program, please click and fill out this Online Google Form (or fill out a paper version that either came home with your child this afternoon or is available at the front desk).
It is important to get the electronic form filled out tonight or the print version returned tomorrow, so we can distribute the Chromebooks and iPads on Friday. Please email Ms. Weintraub if you have questions about this program
That's it for now but as always, please stay in touch with questions or thoughts on this information or anything else related to our partnership.
Have a good evening.
