Harlem Academy is now the highest-rated private or charter school in the nation for effective use of donor contributions, according to Charity Navigator's latest financial accountability and transparency ratings.
This is the third consecutive year that the school has earned the coveted four-star rating from Charity Navigator.
As America's largest charity rater, Charity Navigator helps donors make informed giving decisions. Each year they evaluate hundreds of top schools and organizations, including most of the top independent schools and leading charter networks.
“Only 12% of the charities we rate have received at least 3 consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Harlem Academy outperforms most other charities in America,” wrote Ken Berger, CEO of Charity Navigator, in his letter to Harlem Academy. “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Harlem Academy from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”
Harlem Academy is an independent school where the highest standards for academic rigor and character serve as catalysts for lifelong learning, thoughtful citizenship, and upward mobility. The school offers merit-based admissions, cultivates strong family partnerships, and ensures its economic diversity by meeting all demonstrated need for tuition support.
