University of Rochester '20
Tara Eagan ‘12 found her voice at Harlem Academy and she’s using it to make a positive difference at her new home, the University of Rochester. Tara came to Harlem Academy with great potential but little experience grappling with advanced academics. It didn’t take her long to catch on and by eighth grade she was earning standardized test scores at the 92nd percentile.
When Ariana Phillips ’17 has a goal, nothing will stop her from achieving it. Whether it’s starting a new club at school, learning Russian, or overcoming a challenge, this Andover sophomore continues to live our creed every day. Earlier this year, Ariana started her school’s first photography club, The Andover Edition, which melds her long-standing interest in photography with fashion and social media.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute '20
Javin is a freshman at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), he’s one step closer to a future role: engineer. “I like the idea of being able to build things,” says Javin. “Designing and making models has always been my strong suit.” Harlem Academy’s applied science program, including middle school trips to RPI, was Javin’s first introduction to engineering.
