Harlem Academy Class of 2015
Harlem Academy Class of 2015

Last Friday, we celebrated our fourth commencement and welcomed 14 new members of the alumni into the ranks.

After thanking the families for their partnership in the work with their students, Head of School Vinny Dotoli invited the class to lead the program. In front of students, families, supporters, and staff, each graduate introduced one of their classmates, capturing reflections from their teachers and families about how they had grown during their time at the school, and how each exemplifies the school’s pillars of initiative, integrity, compassion and determination.

All of this year’s graduates have been placed in strong college prep programs, where they will continue to be challenged. More than half of the Class of 2015 have earned full-need scholarships to strong independent schools, four of which are ranked in the top 20 day and boarding schools in the nation. Another will attend the top-ranked selective public school in New York State.

To date, Harlem Academy’s first 50 graduates have earned more than $2.5 million in scholarships for their secondary school education, covering more than 90% of their tuition.

We wish the Class of 2015 the best in the exciting next steps of their educational journeys.
