In light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, Harlem Academy's team has made temporary changes to the admissions process, including a transition to virtual information sessions and interviews via Zoom. You can reach our Enrollment Director, Jennifer Prince, at 646.799.1166 or email@example.com with any questions.
We think it’s really important to have fun and enjoy learning. We act out the crazy plots of Shakespeare’s plays. We study the brain with Columbia University neuroscientists. We grapple with advanced problems in math lab. We fill our library with authors and characters that reflect the diversity of our school and world. We play chess. We dance. We sing. We challenge each other in sports and fitness. We explore New York City’s rich resources, and we visit forests, farms, and universities.
Families come from Harlem, the Bronx, Washington Heights, and all across the tri-state area. Our extended day program (7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) offers time for extracurricular activities and parents and teachers to partner beyond the regular school day. The head of school meets regularly with families to discuss key issues, and most parents choose to volunteer in some way that fits their schedule. Our annual survey is completed by 90% of parents, and almost all of them give the school strong marks for meeting its mission. Read more about family partnership at Harlem Academy.
Harlem Academy provides full-need scholarships to all admitted students. Since Harlem Academy is a private school, every family pays some tuition. However, the generous scholarship program means that the cost will be set at a level that can work in any budget. We promise that no family will ever be turned away for an inability to pay.
For a student who is doing well in his or her current school and shows the potential to take on greater challenge, we encourage you to start your application.
