NYSAIS: Harlem Academy is a member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools. Harlem Academy was granted full accreditation in spring 2011, one year early, based on the strength of the school's program. Then, the school received an exemplary report during its five-year review in 2016. 


Klingenstein Center, Teachers College Columbia University: Each year two to four graduate students in educational leadership collaborate with Harlem Academy school leaders on research projects. 

Schools That Can: Harlem Academy is a member of Schools That Can, a national network of high performing schools in underserved areas. 

Early Steps: Harlem Academy is a member of Early Steps, an organization that partners with families and schools to increase racial diversity in New York City’s independent schools.


Charity Navigator: Harlem Academy has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator (link is external) for financial management and transparency.

New York Community Trust Nonprofit Excellence Awards: The school recieved the 2011 gold award, recognizing best practices in nonprofit management.

GuideStar​​​​​​​: Harlem Academy has GuideStar's (link is external) platinum seal of transparency, demonstrating its commitment to sharing results.
