NYSAIS: Harlem Academy is a member of the New York State Association of Independent Schools. Harlem Academy was granted full accreditation in spring 2011, one year early, based on the strength of the school's program. Then, the school received an exemplary report during its five-year review in 2016. 


Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children: Harlem Academy has earned the Beau Biden Foundation's Shield of Protection, recognizing the school's best practices related to youth protection policies, procedures, and programming.

Charity Navigator: Harlem Academy has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator (link is external) for financial management and transparency.

GuideStar: Harlem Academy has GuideStar's (link is external) platinum seal of transparency, demonstrating its commitment to sharing results.

New York Times Nonprofit Excellence Awards: The school received the 2011 gold award (link is external), recognizing best practices in nonprofit management.
