Grade Six

In grade six, students explore how the concepts of truth and beauty have changed over time. They begin with an exploration of aesthetics, examining classical and medieval art and architecture, with trips to the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine and the Cloisters. Students then study the Renaissance, examining the rebirth of art, science, medicine, and religion through an in-depth look at the life of Leonardo DaVinci. Grade-six students also begin to analyze the structure of a formal argument and how to support ideas using different types of evidence.
