Students begin grade three with a biology unit on the Structure of Life. The classroom is transformed into a habitat for creatures such as land snails, crayfish, and beetles. In a Physics of Sound unit, students learn how sound can change in pitch and volume, travel through a variety of materials, and move from a source to a receiver. Our study includes a trip to the New York Hall of Science. In the third unit, students investigate and analyze Earth Materials, taking materials apart to find out what they are composed of and putting them back together to better understand their properties.
