Two teachers share each class. The lead teacher runs the classroom from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a break for lunch and preparation during the mid-day program from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. The associate teacher adds a complementary skill set, often in arts or athletics, to the teaching team and provides assistance during key academic blocks. Associate teachers work from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a break for lunch and preparation from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Associate teachers take lead responsibility for the mid-day and late afternoon programs. Having the lead teacher start the day and the associate teacher end the day in each classroom provides consistency for the students and opportunities for both teachers to regularly communicate with families. |
"With more one-on-one interaction, every child is known well by the teachers and positioned with a chance to shine."
